This year Pherrow's celebrate their 30th anniversary and in reaching this milestone have released a number of limited products.
Here we have the 21W-Takumi Sukajan, a truly unique piece and expertly crafted in Japan by true artisans (as the name might suggest - Takumi is a Japanese word for artisan).
The roots of the Souvenir jacket, or Sukajan in Japanese, can be traced back to American soldiers stationed in the Pacific following the end of World War II. During the post-war occupation, American troops began using traditional Japanese designs and hand stitching them into the backs of their jackets to commemorate their time spent in Japan.
Heavily inspired by these vintage pieces, the 21W-Takumi is cut in Japan from a rich black cotton velvateen and much like originals is adorned with symbols of Japan. The front features a hand-embroidered Tiger & Hawk while the sleeve feature a hand stitched dragon, while the reverse also features a dragon and two other traditional symbols of Japan - Fuji san & the Sun.
The interior features iconic Hawaiian imagery with a jacquard weave 'Hundred Tigers' lining while a contrasting white collar, cuffs and waistband have been paired with a zip front and two slash pockets while sloping raglan sleeves completes the look.
