Warehouse & Co. 1880 Waist-overall One WashClutch cafe
Warehouse & Co have been producing authentic, high-quality garments since 1995 This AW19 sees Warehouse continue with their standard aesthetic and development of iconic, classic pieces that have served them so well for almost 25 years.
Based on a late nineteenth-century pair of overalls from the Warehouse & Co. archive the '1880 waist overalls are a designed around some of the earliest denim available.
The 'Boss of the Road' denim company, started by the Neustadter Brothers, decorated their denim with stitched detailing strengthening areas of strain, a detail also shared by the 'Union Pacific' being manufactured in the same factory.
The use of copper rivets had been patented and marketed by Levis Stauss & Jacob Davis since 1973 and was protected from use by other companies until 1890.
The back pocket arcuate stitch was used by the Neustadter Brothers to signify their denim from other brands and was designed around Native American patterns and the leaf of the indigo plant.
A very individual pair of early denim, with unique styling and details from an age of forward minded invention.
