Buzz Rickson’s Lot. 019 JeanClutch Cafe
Well known for their excellent military re-productions, Buzz Rickson's Lot:19 WWII 'Waist Overalls' are no exception. Taking their inspiration from wartime production denim, where raw materials were sparse due to demand for the war effort, many manufacturers, most notably Levi’s simplified their designs to conform with governmental sanctions to save cotton, copper and zinc for war office use.
Removing the ubiquitous back cinch, suspender buttons and use of excess rivets the simplification of the 'Waist Overall' really gave birth to what we recognise as the modern 'jean'
With a true 1940's cut, these jeans are loose through the leg, with a high-boxy rise. The denim have a great slubby uneven weave, which will fade and wear beautifully.
Due to the raw nature of this denim, they will tend to shrink 1-2 inches in the waist and up to 3 inches in length.
