Buzz Rickson's has chosen to reproduce Rough Wear's 23380 contract, produced in 1942 the order was for 12,000 jackets and was the penultimate of five contracts awarded to the company.
This particular jacket is patched as part of the U.S Airforce's Air Transport Command in the China, Burma, India (CBI) theatre, who's job it was to resupply troops on the ground and in the air. This was particularly tricky assignment for skilled pilots who had to surmount the Himalayas en-route referred to as the 'Camels Hump' by the pilots these missions were long and dangerous.
This jacket is made using Buzz Rickson's 'Bronco' horsehide a veg (wood bark) tanned, hand painted aniline-dyed Italian horse-hide which has a superb
