Buzz Rickson's x William Gibson M-422A Leather Jacket Black
Buzz Rickson's

The collaboration between Buzz Rickson's and William Gibson was established in 2004 after Gibson attributed a black MA-1 to Buzz Rickson's, worn by the main character in his novel 'Pattern Recognition'. The jacket didn't exist, but such demand for the jacket spurred Buzz Rickson's to reach out and create a collection inspired by the fictional all-black MA-1.
The M-422A is one of the iconic jackets of USN garment history. Initially introduced in 1940 by the U.S. Navy's Bureau of Aeronautics as the M442, the addition of a pencil slot in the left pocket warranted the change of spec to M-422A a year later. This jacket has truly lasted the test of time and with its good looks and extremely functional design, with only the smallest of changes to the basic design and specs it has continued to be issued to U.S. Navy pilot rights up to today - now commonly known as the G-1.
The Buzz Rickson's x William Gibson M-422A is cut in Japan from the finest vegetable tanned, hand aniline-dyed goatskin. The 1/2 inch shearling collar features mouton and is complimented by the fine grade 100% wool knits on both cuffs and waistband. The zip front features a Talon Mil Spec Nickel Finished Zip while the snap buttons used meet U.S. Government Department of Defence regulations. The Contract NXs 416 is complete with mil spec urea buttons while a trim, short silhouette completes the look on this cracking piece.
