Jelado 55 Pique Jacket NaturalJelado
The 55 Pique Jacket is a new model introduced by Jelado for SS21 and forms an integral part of their collection, sitting perfectly alongside their denim range.
In the late 1950's and early 60's the design process from brands such as Levi's and Lee began to slowly move away from the mass produced indigo blue denim to fabrics such as pique, satin and corduroy. This movement altered the focus of standard denim workwear focused garment production.
Jelado's 55 Pique Jacket is inspired by the definitive vintage denim jacket, the Levi's Type II 507 XX. Cut from 100% cotton pique (a style of weave that is characterised by raised parallel cords) in Japan, the jacket comes in a Natural colour-way for the season like those made in the 60's. A pleated box front with two chest pockets has been paired with two button waist adjusters to fine-tune fitting. Custom iron buttons are present throughout with branded detailing as well copper rivets on the sleeve . A branded paper patch completes the look.
