Here we have the Rakkasan Jacket from Jelado, a stand-out offering from their SS21 collection and sure to be a favourite of many for the Spring/Summer season.

Heavily inspired by the garments and imagery of Sukajan Jackets, or Souvenir Jackets, the Rakkasan is a fitting piece and based on a vintage model from a US Paratrooper.

The roots of the Souvenir Jacket, or Sukajan in Japanese, can be traced back to American soldiers stationed in the Pacific following the end of World War II. During the post-war occupation, American troops began using traditional Japanese designs and hand-stitching them into the backs of their jackets to commemorate their time in Japan

The outer shell of the Rakkasan is cut from a blend of high density rayon and cotton giving the jacket a lightweight feel. The zip front uses an aged Waldes zipper to give a vintage and worn in feel while two lined slash pockets, collar and set sleeves provide the jacket with structure. The intricate "Angels from Hell" and Parachute embroidery on the reverse sets the Rakassan apart and makes it truly stand out. Cat eye button cuffs and elasticated side adjusters completes the look.

  • 52% rayon / 48 % cotton outer
  • 50% rayon / 50% cotton dobby cotton liner
  • Inspired by vintage Sukajan imagery / specifically Paratrooper
  • Aged Waldes zip front
  • Two lined slash pockets
  • Intricate embroidery on reverse
  • Cat eye buttons on cuff
  • Elasticated side adjusters
  • Made in Japan
