Jelado Smoke Jacket Suede Black
Jelado

A standout offering from Jelado here in the form of their Smoke leather Jacket, inspired by those made popular in the 1970's.
The "Smoke" is clearly inspired by the leather jackets famously produced by the East West Company in the 1970's. A clear shift in garment production and fashion from the 40's & 50's saw the introduction of the Hippie movement in the 60's, which ultimately led to a more fashion orientated design basis in 1970's California.
Norman Stubbs and David Warren created East West Musical Instruments Company in San Francisco, California in the late 60's where they they produced hand made objects including leather goods. They made leather jackets for artists such as Janis Joplin and Elvis Presley; two rock & roll greats.
Jelado have faithfully recreated a true leather jacket icon. Cut from a 1.8mm thick cowhide suede in Japan, the "Smoke" features loads of details like those of the 70's. The leather has been treated with oil and has been dyed in their factory, giving an almost lived in feel that truly brings through the character of the material. A zip front using a branded vintage style Waldes zip has been paired with two hip pockets both with button closure, while there are two side zip entry hand warmer pockets.
The distinctive pocket designs of the East West jacket have been paired with a lining using a black cupra, while the jacket has been finished with the distinctive leather patch - "For Bohemians".
Our favourite touch is the rear 'concealed' pocket behind the collar, often referred to as the 'Marijuana' pocket ...
