The Sailmaker's Shirt from John Gluckow forms part of their new SS21 collection, Dockworkers Revisited. John’s outstanding knowledge of vintage clothing in combination with Japan’s unique production and manufacturing skills results in a truly stunning collection time after time.

The Sailmaker's Shirt is inspired by a couple of vintage British Sportswear items in John's collection, typically used for Rugby. These were initially cut from wool (as it was deemed the most technical fabric at the time) but were quickly changed to cotton and the long-sleeved, usually colourful or striped rugby shirts were introduced with a contrasting collar and a 3 button front.

Cut from 100% double-faced cotton in Japan, the Sailmaker's Shirt is available in two easy-wearing horizontal stripes for the season. A relaxed fit with a natural elasticity to the fabric has been paired with contrasting cuffs and collar. A three button fastening placket features a natural herringbone twill backing for a touch of contrast while natural shell buttons complete the look.
