LFC Albert Jake Lone Mt. BraceletLFC - Lowry Family Collection
Discovered in the 1920's the Lone Mountain Mine, was a prolific producer of turquoise in Nevada. Noted for its colour and variety of turquoise this mine is known for the deep blue gems it produces, retaining its colour due to the hardness of the stone. Mined extensively and inexpertly during it's lifetime, the badly excavated tunnel system running though the mountain has made it dangerous and hard to mine, dwindling in yield from it's 1970's heyday till now
This stone has a deep colour with a complex matrix running through it creating pools of colour though-out the stone.
Albert Jake is a renowned silversmith and part of the Jake family, one of 13 children. Albert was born in 1959 and taught silversmithing by his parents.
