The stone used in this bracelet is from the King's Manassa turquoise mine, known for its incredible blue to green shades and golden brown bedrock 'matrix' from which it is cut. A truly unique stone which draws the eye into rich layers and depths of colour.
The mine it self was founded by the 1890's by I.P Kings who traveled to Colorado in search of gold, no gold was found, but the prehistoric turquoise was uncovered by King, though was one of the first deposits discovered by the Native Americans in Colorado over one-thousand years ago. The mine has been passed down four generations (though is not currently producing) to its current owner I.P Kings great, great grandchild Bill King, a highly respected stone cutter and workman.
