Mister Freedom Baloo Leather Jacket BlackMister Freedom
The Baloo Leather Jacket is simply a standout piece this AW20 from Mister Freedom. The Baloo Jacket is their take on the famous vintage “Grizzly” style, a popular garment of 1930’s working America, combining mouton fur and leather in one jaw-dropping statement piece.
The main body of the jacket is cut from a black veg tan tea-core leather. Tea-core leather refers to an old-school tannery method and is a term familiar with vintage leather goods collectors and dealers. Tea-core dyeing results in the skin side colour being different the flesh side colour. To achieve this the hides are first dip dyed in a light brown colour and is followed by spraying the skin side with a dark colour top coating. The thin topcoat wears off over time and gradually exposes the lighter tone of the under layer, revealing a beautiful patina.
The Baloo features a single panel sheepskin back as well as two front sheepskin panels and is fully lined with a cotton brushed flannel in a vibrant plaid. A button facing front placket is complimented with a short 1930's silhouette and small sheepskin collar. The piece is finished with slash pockets, NOS side metal adjustable straps and Corozo Cat Eye buttons to complete the look.
The Baloo is deisgned and made by Mister Freedom in California.
