Arguably the finest Americana reproduction brand from Japan, the Real McCoy's painstakingly recreate and update original garments for the modern day offering the best from the past, replicated to perfection without compromise in Japan.
The Cotton/Nylon Hooded Down Jacket takes cues from an original design, with original development coming from the late 1940's. These were custom made by Eddie Bauer for a group of American expeditioners in 1953, who were attempting to climb K2, commonly referred to as the Savage Mountain. Due to the high heat retention capabilities of the jacket, it was soon adopted by other explorers and adventure units looking to conquer the world's toughest terrains.
Every feature of this Down Jacket from The Real McCoy's is designed to provide warmth and maximum heat retention, while providing a full range of movement and protection. The outer fabric is specially woven for McCoy's and comes in the classic 60/40 cotton/nylon for maximum durability. Windproof and water repellent, the jacket features a nylon liner and uses 100% new premium quality French Duck down in the body, sleeves and hood.
The down is closely secured by over-lapping down insulated by a full length heavy duty custom McCoy's zip and the extra 9 button front, a distinctive features of these iconic 'Karakoram' parkas. The hood features a strap in the back to adjust the height of the face opening while the sleeves feature close-fitting elastic knit nylon cuffs. Two large button closure pockets feature two lined hand-warmer slots while drawstrings at the waist and hem allow for adjustment to maintain warmth.
