The 'Ciggy' shirt from Jelado is a recent introduction to their line-up and is a variation on their ever-popular chambray Smoker Shirt.
Cut in Japan from 100% cotton chambray, in a 'cinnamon' colour-way, reminiscent of the classic work-wear 'Salt & pepper' variation. The Ciggy Shirt is based on a vintage Big Yank 'Gatchapoke' work-shirt of the 1920's or 30's. The name comes from the asymmetrical pocket shapes, originally designed to house cigarettes.
Big Yank was launched as a workwear maker by Reliance (Reliance Manufacturing) based in Chicago, Illinois in 1919. Big Yank created a lot of innovative details from pockets to cuffs to yokes, and famous brands also imitated the details, developing products with high design while being a traditional work wear manufacturer.
The Ciggy is complete with a zip front, using a Waldes zipper, and features classic workwear shirt detailing like chain-stitch run offs, throat tabs and triple stitch construction used through-out.
