Japanese brand Soundman have created a name for themselves creating unique clothing with a classical twist. Their latest collection for SS25 is no different as the Swinger jacket demonstrates.
This offering from Soundman really caught our eye during a visit to Soundman's Yokohama showroom last year. Modelled on classic American Swing Tops - or Drizzler jackets - it channels the easygoing, functional style made famous by brands like McGregor. With its roots in mid-century sportswear, it offers that timeless Blouson silhouette, originally designed for light rain and transitional weather.
The fabric is the standout feature of this relatively simple jacket. At first glance—and even to the touch—you might mistake it for nylon. But it's actually crafted from 100% cotton & the secret lies in the ultra-light cotton moleskin, woven with fine-count Supima cotton used for the body of the jacket. This gives it a surprisingly lightweight, almost technical feel, while retaining the breathability and natural texture of a fine grade cotton.
Raglan sleeves and a classic style collar have been paired with a 'cigarette' pocket on the left sleeve while a two-way zip front and chin tab provide functionality. Waist adjusters have been added on the waistband to aid fit while two slash pockets completes the look.
