New from Buzz Rickson's for this AW23 and falling under their 'Aviation Associates' line (whereby they reproduce garments from the 1920's - 1940's when various types of contract issue jackets were readily available to the public), we have a re-working of the signature U.S. Army Denim Jacket.

Blue denim was issued to the US Army from 1909 as the work uniform which was set as standard material for work clothing at the time. This Denim Jacket was first introduced in 1940 by the U.S. Army to replace the M1937 pullover denim shirt, due to the impractical nature of a pullover in the field.

Corduroy was never an officially issued material due to the impracticality in the field but this jacket has been re-worked by Buzz Rickson's and offers a workwear appeal to an army issue jacket. Cut in Japan from a mid-weight corduroy, the jacket is loose-fitting for ease of wear & movement.

Other features include a button front using original U.S. Army metal buttons and two large flap pockets. Tonal stitching is used throughout while the stitching is slightly irregular to express wartime manufacturing detailing. Finished with woven Buzz Rickson's MFG. Co 'Aviation Associates' label.
