Reed

Reed is a small, unique enterprise operating out of Ibara, in the Okayama prefecture. Okada san, the owner of the brand, collects vintage sewing machines and each piece is constructed on machines dating back to pre 1950's. In Japanese "Reed" is called the "Osa" and is essential in denim manufacturing. The warp and weft are the key components to constructing denim with the warp being driven through the weft in order to not get too lose. The reed, or "Osa" plays the part in carrying out this procedure. It is absolutely indispensable in producing denim. Each piece with Reed manufactured is done so with absolute attention to detail, with love and care for their product.
