The handmade leather goods from Tokyo based Tenjin Works are created by spending a large amount of time spent tanning Tochigi leather - often referred to as 'a rarity in the world'.
The JW03 is a classic sportswear style leather jacket taking inspiration from vintage leather jackets of the 1940's. Cut from 100% Tochigi cowhide leather in their small Tokyo studio (one hour metro ride from Shibuya station), the jacket meets all of Tenjin works usual specs. The leather used is a rare leather only found in Japan commonly referred to as Kip leather, due to the age of the hide; usually calf leather from 6 months - 2 years old. The leather is characterised by the unique soft and supple properties that run through the hide making it easy to wear.
A Talon branded zip is used for the zip front closure while two slash patch pockets and single zip closure pocket are utilised on the front. Art Deco style buckles are used on the sleeve and waist to adjust the size. The back of the jacket features action pleats for ease of movement and mobility while the jacket is complete with a cotton herringbone liner and original natural cowhide leather patch.
