For over 180 years Tricker's shoes have been handmade in Northampton. The core principles of quality, durability, innovation, adventure and skill are stitched into every pair of boots that leaves their factory.
This is our 3rd collaboration with the established English shoe company and we've opted to adapt their classic Leon Loafer to our liking.
The Leon Horsebit uses a fine nap suede made from calfskin, known as repello suede. The hide is split and aniline-dyed to create a velvety effect on both sides of the leather. The repello suede used in Tricker’s footwear is a range of high quality, tanned to give a full, generous handle and rich appearance.
The leather had been fully treated with ‘Scotch Guard’ in the tanning process in order to achieve a high degree of resistance to staining in general, as well as offering some water resistance. The proofing remains effective throughout the life of the footwear.
For added durability and ease of wear, the loafer has been finished with a dainite sole. Famous for its all-weather grip, a dainite sole is durable and long-lasting yet flexible enough to provide all-day comfort, one of the main reasons we decided to go for this sole unit. A brass horse-bit and tonal stitching finishes the look on this loafer.
