An offshoot of "Osaka Five" member, Studio D'artisan, Orgueil offer collections inspired by early 20th century workwear designs.
The Gas Cape is a mythical piece of vintage British Military Clothing, an incredibly rare & elusive piece for the avid vintage collector. These were originally designed to protect soldiers from chemical warfare and cut from an oiled cloth to make them impervious to liquids. Luckily they weren't required for their intended design but became more of an outer shell to keep the rain off.
The Gas Cape from Orgueil is inspired by the original British Army issue garment but elevated for modern day wear. Cut from 100% cotton ventile in Japan, this version of the Gas Cape is naturally breathable, waterproof & windproof. Two slash pockets with snap button closure add a utilitarian touch while paired with a single chest pocket and button cuff adjusters. The drawstring waist aids fit and is paired with a snap button front and chin strap for maximum efficiency.
