A faithful reproduction of a U.S. Army issue Jacket, familiar to many with the signature large chest pockets. This piece is constructed from a dense herringbone twill in Japan, originally chosen in 1942 for its exceptional durability and resistance to gas penetration.
True to the original, it features two large, vertically gusseted chest pockets and reinforced double-layer elbows for added strength. A concealed gas flap sits behind the button placket, which was originally added to protect the wearer from chemical warfare. Both functional details are found on the green side of the garment, while the tan reverse remains plain, and not designed to be worn reversed.
Taking inspiration from the olive drab M-43 field jacket, this version distinguishes itself with a concealed button front, eliminating potential snags when worn with gear or when crawling through rough terrain, but now just a nice detail!
