Buco was a famous leather jacket manufacturer founded in 1933 as the 'Joseph Buegeleisen Co', and were one of the first producers specialising in motorcycle accessories and bags. A few years later they developed their full apparel line promising "Motorcycle jackets, gloves, caps, belts & bags all cut and sewn by lifelong craftsmen to the task at hand".

Manufacturing was maintained entirely at an in-house factory, allowing the brand to produce the highest quality leather jackets available on the market at the time. The horsehide rider’s jackets produced during 1940s-50s are considered their iconic pieces. The Real McCoy's have acquired the licence to produce the brand and do so with due diligence and expertise in Japan.

The J-24 alongside the J-100 were two biker jackets that put Joseph Buegeleisen's Buco brand on the map. Developed in 1953, The J-24 jacket is considered to be one of the most iconic depictions of a double-riders jacket with D-pocket.

Each leather jacket manufactured by The Real McCoy's is made entirely by one highly trained, skilled craftsman, manufactured in their Kobe HQ. McCoy's use a custom recipe tanned Shinki horsehide, with each piece hand cut for every jacket. The Buco J-24 uses a tea-core vegetable tanned horsehide with a "Rich Water Resistant Black Finish"; a term coined in vintage Buco sales catalogs and similar to original leathers. The jacket also features a custom made quilted liner. The leather is a brown core with a black finish that over time will wear away revealing the brown wear in high stress areas (sleeves, cuffs & front placket especially).

This is the updated model (BJ21101). The pattern is true to the vintage model with a three dimensional sleeve and front-back balance to reproduce a well-balanced silhouette that is not too tight this time round. We would suggest this model runs true to size.
