Rocky Mountain Featherbed for Clutch Cafe
Our latest collaborations with Rocky Mountain Featherbed are now live!
For this years collaboration we have two very special offerings from RMFB, the iconic 'Christy Vest' and a new style, the 'Down Short Shell' jacket. We took them both to the lantern adorned streets of Chinatown on a chilly October morning, to road test their heat retention and for a steamed bun breakfast.
Originally a 60's US brand, Rocky Mountain Featherbed became know world over for producing down garments with a Western flair. Originating in Wyoming, aptly named the 'Cowboy State', RMFB is now headed up by the team behind Anatomica, Wakouwa, Yankshire et al. and is celebrating it's 50th year of keeping us warm and stylish.
For our first collab this year, we've opted to tweak the classic all blacked out Christy, for something a little more easy going. We changed the lining to a contrasting bottle green, swapped the leather yoke for a fine black suede and the pearl snaps are the white mother of- variety.
The DSS, or Down Short Shell if you've got time, is a new silhouette from RMFB. Drawing inspiration from their enormous archive of vintage Rocky Mountain pieces, Kinji San and his team have faithfully reproduced this less well recognised design. Fear not though, it's still got all the classic detailing you'd expect; one piece leather yoke, 90/ 10 waterproof down/ feather filling, lightweight nylon outer shell and snap buttons.
Our RMFB collaborations will now be available up to a size 50!
RMFB is now produced in Tokyo, along the Kanda river, in a factory overlooking the 35 summers head office and the Nihonbashi Anatomica and RMFB stores. Where we hope it's made for another 50 years!
