The Real McCoy's N-1 Deck Jacket Khaki
The Real McCoy'sArguably the finest Americana reproduction brand from Japan, the Real McCoy's painstakingly recreate and update original garments for the modern day offering the best from the past, replicated to perfection without compromise in Japan.
Here we have one of the most iconic jackets of all time. Much like its counterparts (the MA-1 or M-65), The N-1 Deck Jacket transcended military issue and became a staple item for icons of mens style, as well as appearing in 1960's Hollywood movies. This is the most accurate reproduction N-1 Deck Jacket from McCoy's, having improved the fabric by studying their extensive archive collection; as well as improving the stitching and thread count & adjusting fit.
The N-1 Deck Jacket was first issued to U.S. Navy Personnel as a follow on from the Pea Coat, and originally introduced as a 'bib-overall'. First introduced in 1943, the N-1 was made from a heavy, tightly woven whipcord or 'Bedford' cord outer-shell (which came to be known as jungle cloth) protecting the wearer from high winds, sea spray and salt. For insulation the jacket was lined with a thick Alpaca wool pile. The minimalist details included a zip front closure with a wide, button-through storm placket, snug inset knit cuffs and a drawstring at the hem.
McCoy's have replicated this iconic jacket down to a tee. Cut from 100% cotton cross-grain jungle cloth in Japan, the N-1 features the signature alpaca lining and collar, while the zip front uses a 40's style bell-shaped zipper. The button wind-flap placket has been paired with a drawstring waist while the sleeves have a storm cuff for added warmth and function. Two slash pockets complete the look.
