Continuing to be inspired by vintage military wear, this SS23 sees Soundman utilise exacting fabrics with inspired design.
The Norton Shorts from Japanese favourites Soundman are inspired by 1940's & 50's British Military issue Gurkha Trousers. The history of the trouser is rooted deep within British Military tradition, specifically during the Anglo-Nepalese War where the enemy were an elite fighting group called the Ghurkha’s. Having found their way into the Menswear circles of late, they are equally at home paired with Tailoring or Workwear.
The Gurkha Trouser, or Short, is defined by its double-pleated front and high, cummerbund-style waistband with buckle fastenings. Soundman have faithfully re-created this iconic style with all details mentioned above present throughout. Cut in Japan from 100% cotton Westpoint chino fabric, the Norton is complete with the side entry pockets and two rear button closure pockets while a turned up hem completes the look.
