Our second delivery from Y’2 Leather has just landed, bringing with it a mix of new arrivals and welcome restocks. As ever, Y’2 continue to impress with their dedication to Japanese craftsmanship, using only the finest leathers and traditional techniques to create pieces built to last a lifetime. This marks our first drop of the Autumn/Winter season, setting the stage for the coming months. Expect heavier hides, deeper tones, and silhouettes that balance everyday wearability with the character and individuality Y’2 are known for. Alongside a handful of brand-new styles, we’ve also restocked some of what have become core favourites. We thought we'd give a further glimpse into the styles that mark our first Autumn delivery, with more due in the coming weeks & months.
To bring these pieces to life, we spent some time with our friend Ned, a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors. A South London native, Ned draws energy from the city itself, carving his own path through a wide range of projects. His work often explores mechanical entropy, “taking things apart, repurposing them, and stretching their material ability”, an approach that resonates with the spirit of craft and reimagining at the heart of Y’2 Leather.

TR-65 Steer Roughout Single Riders Jacket
The TR-65 Single Riders Jacket from Y'2 is their take on a classic Single Riders style, pared back and classically styled. The leather is a 1.3mm full grain Steerhide Roughout suede, the reverse of their oiled Steerhide. The leather is water-dyed in Japan and is finished naturally using a drum dyeing process, providing an even distribution of colour, without hiding scratches or scuffs with dye.

TB-141 Steer Roughout 2nd Type Jean Jacket
The TB-141 from Y'2 is their version the unmistakable 507 xx, Type II Jacket, Levi's 2nd style of jacket introduced in 1953. Using a fine Steer Roughout for the body of the jacket, the TB-141 has been produced with the same sewing techniques as seen on vintage denim jackets to enhance the puckering through the seams creating wonderful, subtle areas of character that run through each garment.

This style from Y'2 is a faithful nod to early motoring outerwear, balancing 1930's utilitarian function with some updated details. Originally designed for open-top driving, the Car Coat offered practical protection without the bulk of a full-length overcoat. Originally 1.8mm thick, this Eco Horse has been thinly strained to 1.3mm, giving the the leather solid hand without feeling overly rigid.

One of the styles that has truly transcended mainstream fashion. The Trucker Jacket, or Type III is a silhouette rooted in classic Americana but elevated here through the use of 1.3mm steerhide. A familiar silhouette for most.

HVR-42 Horse Single Riders Jacket
Similar in style to the TR-65, this is their classic Single Riders style, pared back and classically styled. This jacket is crafted from 1.5mm custom horsehide, dyed in deep black. After dyeing, the leather is finished with a paraffin wax coating, which hydrates the hide and adds a supple, waxy feel. This process softens the leather significantly, giving the jacket a broken-in comfort right from the start.

A new addition to the Y'2 line-up is their Steer Roughout Wool Boa Vest, inspired by vests made popular in the 1960's & 70's & made for wear on ranches that eventually transcended workwear & were made by countless American Store brands.
